01 / About

A patient’s perspective.
A commercial discipline.

I sit at the intersection of clinical knowledge and commercial execution, built first by living through two ACL reconstructions and a thirteen-month return to play as a competing NCAA athlete, then by formal training in exercise science and business education.

In 2023, I suffered an ACL tear, meniscus damage, and a tibial plateau fracture. In 2025, I went through the same journey again after a second ACL reconstruction. Going through surgery, rehabilitation, and recovery twice changed how I see healthcare, not just as something I study, but something I experienced firsthand as a patient.

It made clear how much medical technology, surgical decision-making, and innovation shape recovery, mobility, and long-term outcomes, and how directly implant design and surgical technique determine what a patient gets back. That experience is what pulled me deeper into MedTech and the question of how devices move from idea to clinical use.

To build that foundation, I completed a B.S. in Health Sciences, Exercise Science (Magna Cum Laude) and am now pursuing an MBA in Digital Management, both on full athletic scholarship.

Today I am building toward a career in medical devices, with a focus on orthopedics, the implants and instruments that decide how well a patient moves, heals, and returns to the life they want.

02 / Experience

Selected experience

My experiences across MedTech, university governance, and NCAA leadership have given me exposure to both the business and operational sides of healthcare. Along the way, I developed skills in stakeholder engagement, market analysis, project execution, and working within complex and regulated environments. Most importantly, these experiences reinforced my interest in how medical technologies move from idea to adoption and ultimately improve patient care.

  1. Product Management

Product Management Intern: Medical Devices (Orthopedics)

Medical Bees / Rudolf Storz · Tuttlingen, Germany

    May → Aug 2026

Product management internship at a German orthopedic device manufacturer, May to August 2026. Following Rudolf Storz’s acquisition of Mahe Medical, I led the portfolio rationalization that merged two overlapping trauma lines into one commercial portfolio.

    • Led portfolio rationalization after the Mahe Medical acquisition: analyzed five osteosynthesis implant sets across clinical performance, technical specifications, and regulatory standing, then consolidated two overlapping trauma lines into a single commercial portfolio.
    • Built the scale, modify, or phase-out decision model per product family, weighing market demand, revenue margin, clinical performance, and manufacturing feasibility.
    • Benchmarked biomechanical test data, material specifications, and surgical usability across five portfolios against Arthrex, Smith+Nephew, Stryker, Zimmer Biomet, and DePuy Synthes.
  2. Research · Current

Research Assistant: Generative AI in Clinical Workflows

St. Edward’s University · Austin, TX

    Jan 2026 → Now

Research on generative AI in clinical decision support and clinician workflow; structured synthesis of peer-reviewed and industry sources, written up as a single-author working paper.

    • Authored the single-author working paper “Governance Over Algorithms: Leadership, Trust, and the Future of Clinical AI Adoption”.
    • Structured literature review applying an extended Technology Acceptance Model and the NASSS framework to governance, trust, and adoption dynamics of clinical AI.
    • Assessed how AI tools are reshaping clinical environments, from decision support to OR documentation and clinician workflow, and what that shift asks of the teams selling into those settings.
  3. Product Marketing

    Marketing & Research Intern

St. Edward’s University · School of Health Sciences · Austin, TX

    Jan → May 2026

Built the marketing plan for the School of Health Sciences: who to reach, on which channels, and with what message. Taken for credit as a graduate business internship.

    • Defined audience segments and the channel mix across web, email, and social, and developed the campaign concepts aimed at growing program enrollment.
    • Ran working sessions with the School of Health Sciences deans on positioning the PT and OT programs, then produced technical Q&A video content answering what prospective students actually ask.
    • Translated clinical-program requirements into language non-clinical audiences act on, the same work that turns a product spec into launch messaging.
  4. Leadership

    Vice President, Student Body

Texas A&M International University · Laredo, TX

    May 2024 → May 2025

Elected to represent ~10,000 students. Functionally a multi-stakeholder role: build the case, build the coalition, close the budget.

    • Stewarded an $80K annual budget covering housing, travel, food-pantry funding, and athletic events.
    • Negotiated directly with the Texas A&M System Board of Regents and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, with senior-stakeholder selling and consensus building.
    • Won the Vice President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the University Community.
  5. Leadership

    President, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Texas A&M International University · NCAA Division II

    2023 → 2025

Two years leading SAAC inside an NCAA-regulated environment: strict rules, audited compliance, and real consequences for getting the process wrong.

    • Led SAAC compliance education sessions for ~200 student-athletes alongside the compliance office.
    • Ran formal quarterly sessions with the Athletic Director and University President and biweekly with representatives of each athletic program.
    • Built reporting cadences and policy alignment in a strict, audited rules environment.
  6. Foundation

    Texas A&M International University (D-II) → St. Edward’s University (D-II) · Athletic Scholarship

    2022 → 2027

Five-year student-athlete career on full athletic scholarship. Three years at TAMIU completing a B.S. in Health Sciences (Exercise Science) in three years (Magna Cum Laude, 3.78 GPA), now continuing at St. Edward’s University through 2027 while pursuing an MBA in Digital Management.

    • Competitive soccer since 2008: Rot-Weiss Essen youth academy (B-Junioren / A-Junioren Bundesliga, U17–U19) before NCAA Division II (U.S.).
    • Transferred to St. Edward’s University in 2025 on continued full athletic scholarship through 2027.
    • President’s Scholar Athlete Award 2025, one male and one female recipient annually.
    • Sophomore of the Year nominee, 2024.
    • Recovered from two ACL reconstructions, the patient experience that pointed me toward MedTech.

What I bring to a
MedTech team

01

Medical Device Research & Portfolio Evaluation

I pressure-test a device portfolio against clinical need, published evidence, and competitive positioning, then communicate what scales, what pivots, and what sunsets. Comfortable working from primary data through to a structured strategic recommendation.

02

Clinical & Product Literacy

Exercise science training plus two ACL reconstructions and thirteen months of rehabilitation give me a working vocabulary across anatomy, implant design, surgical workflow, and post-operative recovery, letting me engage credibly with clinical and commercial stakeholders.

03

Market Access & Commercial Launch

Introductory familiarity with EU MDR 2017/745, covering device classification and why clinical evidence requirements exist. Enough to understand how regulatory timelines shape launch sequencing and to ask the right questions of the people who own the submission. Regulatory affairs is not my background; the commercial side of market access is.

04

Clinical Communication & Scientific Writing

Ten undergraduate research reviews across orthopedics, biomechanics, and medical technology, plus a working paper on clinical AI governance. I can parse a clinical study, extract the commercial signal, and translate it for a surgeon, a procurement committee, or a product team.
